Career Experience

Larry Bruner has been practicing personal injury law and civil litigation throughout the state of Texas since 1988. He is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas to practice in all Courts of Texas as well as in the United States District Courts, Western and Southern Districts. Today, his focus is helping victims of serious personal injuries and their families as well as teaching law at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His reputation for tireless preparation, compassion and personal attention to his clients and students has made him a highly sought after speaker and consultant in the community as well as by local colleges and universities.

Education

Larry Bruner was educated in San Antonio, Texas where he was born and raised. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Accounting in 1985 and was a Charter member of Beta Alpha Psi, the Accounting Honor Fraternity.

He obtained his legal education from St. Mary’s University where he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award in Professional Responsibility. Mr. Bruner was also published in the St. Mary’s Law Journal after winning first place in the Internal Revenue Code Clear Writing Contest. He was elected President of the local Phi Alpha delta Law Fraternity and was named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Early Career

Mr. Bruner began his legal career while still in law school by working part time at the Law Offices of Maloney and Maloney, PC in 1987. Then, in 1988, his third year of law school, Larry Bruner worked at the Bexar County Legal Aid Offices representing individuals in Family Law cases.

After completing law school and being admitted to the bar in 1988, Mr. Bruner worked for his father, James L. Bruner, handling cases involving Personal Injury Law, Employment Law, Consumer Law, Criminal Law, and Real Estate Law. Four years later, Larry Bruner located to The Ariel House where he opened his own law practice and continues to practice law.

Academia

Simultaneously with being admitted to the Texas State Bar and beginning his legal career, Larry Bruner was hired to teach law courses at the University of Texas at San Antonio where he presently continues to teach. He was also hired to teach the Convisor Duffy CPA Review Course to accounting majors from 1991 to 1994. In 2007, Mr. Bruner was an invited guest speaker at a Texas Chiropractic Association seminar on various aspects of tort law and personal injury claims. That year he was also an invited instructor at “The People’s Law School” at St. Mary’s University on issues concerning tort law and insurance law.

Associations

In his spare time, Mr. Bruner enjoys participating as a director of the San Antonio Trial Lawyer’s Association (SATLA) and being a member of the Texas Trial Lawyer’s Association (TTLA) and American Association for Justice (AAJ).
